Pleasant Pond Mountain trail is part of the AT - Appalachian Trail. It is marked as 1.4 miles to the Pleasant Pond Mtn overlook. It was pretty much a UP hill climb the whole way. Needless to say I did not make it to the overlook. I was getting tired keeping the pace with the man and really was concerned about being too tired to maneuver the trek back down...steep! The Man did make it to the top.
Somebody's snack
Yes, that is the trail... UP
and UP...
and UP!
One of the markers I left for The Man as I made my way down
Spooky things I saw along the way...Doesn't it look like a ghost face
Rocks in the roots....
He made it to the TOP!
Whitewater rafting done for the day
At The Marshall's for a night of dancing with friends!
I need a good Sunday afternoon nap and hopefully some stitch time later.
Hope you are having a terrific Labor Day weekend!

How did you have enough strength to dance after that hike? That stump did look creepy. I bet something nasty lives in it ;)
I'm with you on not going to the top. But he took some beautiful pictures from up there. For some strange reason I've developed a very sore left knee, or rather back of the knee. Don't know what could have caused that overnight except for old age. I'm sure I'd not made it nearly as far as you did.

Wow, that trail looks tough! Good for you for being wise about your limitations. Beautiful view at the top! Wow!
What a beautiful place, but I can see why you did not make it to the top. I know I would not have :)
Happy Labor Day to you, too.
Hugs :)

Thanks for sharing those great hike photos! Good for "the man" making it to the top!! I love seeing the leaf colors! Maine is so beautiful in the Fall.
Beautiful hike! Bless you for finding the strength to go dancing later the same evening.
love Annette
