In memory

My absence has been no more than my usual as far as posting but I feel like I've been away for a very long time. This has been a emotional year for our family. My grandpa passed away on September 17th, just six months after the love of his life, Grandma Pat passed away. There are so many memories and so much love shared by these two folks that it cannot be contained in written word.
We are at peace knowing they are dancing together once again.

I've moved all over the place my whole life that I have never really had a place to call going back home. But as my previous post of Memories of Autumn reflects, Slanesville, WV is the home of my early childhood which brings me a sense of "home". As we came over the hill to Eddie's Store in Slanesville I felt a twinge in my heart and as we turned down Voits Rd I was overcome with emotion knowing this would be the last time I would be visiting The Farm and feeling guilt for not coming back more often than I did as an adult.

These two had an adventurous, loving life and had lasting impact on so many lives.
Their immense love for each other is apparent in their smiles and this post cannot do them justice.

I wanted to also share the place in West Virginia....Almost Heaven...
Where so many people came together
and with their love will always have a place in our hearts.
The Farm

As I shared on my FB to my family; Autumn has always been a nostalgic time of year for me; bringing happiness to my heart and balanced to my inner peace. As our family continues to mourn the passing of two and pray for the comfort of another I look to this season of Harvest to reap the amazing memories, lessons and love these grandparents have given to us. I embrace Autumn for all of it's glorious beauty and do not shorten its affect with dread of winter...
And shall do the same in remembering their lives.

Grandma Pat, Papa Percy and Grandma Donna
My mother's step-mom, father and mother.
