The Queen Bee

I finished stitching Love Never Fails before I went on my trip; still need to sew it into a pillow.

So I like to have a little something to stitch when I travel. I picked up JBW Designs-The Queen Bee from my stash. Instead of black on white I choose an ivory even weave with DMC 3371 brown.

I did work on it one morning on the ship. I got up early, got my coffee and found a quiet corner, by the window at Crooner's Lounge.

Isn't she darling....

This is my last Sunday progress on the Spanish Mystery Sampler.
Hope to work on it some more this Sunday.
Sounds like I won't be getting much yard work done this weekend....more cold rain on the way.

Last Saturday I participated in a Color Run 5K for a fundraiser for The American Folk Festival on the Bangor Waterfront. I got together with a couple of my co-workers and planned to walk this thing.

Well they encouraged me to go at a jog and see where we got. One of the ladies works out regularly and was generous in her slow pace. :)
Well I am here to tell you I impressed and surprised myself!!

I jogged, walked, jogged throughout the hilly route and finished in 42 minutes.
We had two 12 minute miles....I was stoked that I DID IT!! I could not believe my stamina; considering I had not prepared to run at all. I certainly felt it the next two days.

Yeah US!!

This has been a good kick start to my walking plans. So I have gotten back into my sneakers...

Wishing everyone a delightful weekend.

Stitching in the forecast

I will post my stitchy stuff tonight!  I am still in the blog; just many things happening all at once; including my terrific vacation. But I will refrain from boring you with the rest of those pics and stick to the needlework.

I had a little needle time last night. I jogged/walked/jogged my first 5k on Saturday. It was a Color Run fund raiser for the American Folk Festival on the Bangor Waterfront. I am so proud that I DID IT...in 42 min at that. Not bad for not having any intension of running at all! My cohorts jogged me into it. So glad we did. :)

Stitches to come. Have a terrific week!

Keep on stitching.

P.S. Looks like my Blogaversary is coming up....I had better start planning something special. Hmmmm.

Come back new....

I love Princess Cruises tag line!! We had such a fabulous time ...it has been hard getting back into the swing of REALITY! I will share only a few of the 878 pictures I took. I say a few...I will share over several posts as I don't want it to be a photo bore and I should work on my creative writing too. :) I truly enjoyed every moment with the Navy Girl and my best friend.

Aahhh, life is but a dream.

I will show my stitching in the next post. I did finish Love Never Fails; now to make it into a small pillow. I started a small to take on my travels... worked more on it last weekend than when I traveled. Those later... For now...hooking ends for the season.

Finished my mug rug for the Winterport Rug Hookers exchange.

Look at all the lovely, creative works.
Last Saturday was our last get together until fall.

Always a fun time with this bunch. Here are some of the rugs being finished up.

Everyone is talking less of wool and more of gardening... I think we are all ready to bust outdoors and play in the dirt. Happy Summer ladies!

I have gotten a little bit worked on the Spanish Mystery Sampler. I worked in the yard a bit before noon, got Easter dinner started and hope to work a little more.

Hope everyone had a wonderful gathering with family and friends on Easter Sunday.

Our Royal adventure....

We could not have started our trip in a more honorable way. We landed at Reagan Nat'l Airport for our layover and came upon a Honor Flight deplaning on their way to the National Monuments. We actually got to see two Honor Flights arrive during our lay over. A very moving and emotional moment...Thank you for your service Ladies and Gentlemen!

*=*=*=*=*=*=*

We arrived at the Sheraton-Ft. Lauderdale on the Beach
formerly known as the Yankee Clipper...back in the DAY.

The famous Shipwreck Bar with the mermaid show...

We caught a glimpse of the show in passing on our way out to dinner and our adventurous rickshaw ride! We experience the Ft Lauderdale strip up close and personal; it was touch and go there a few times. But Christian, our driver/peddler was awesome!! It was worth the RIDE!

Loved the flags; when you want to order a yummy bite to eat or refreshing beverage just raise your flag. Might need to think about getting one for the back deck. Hahaha.

Bon Voyage!!

Princess cruise lines have a special send off horn...the theme from the Love Boat.
Choked me right up when she blew her horn.

Leaving Ft. Lauderdale

This is when I became overwhelmed with emotion...never thought I would be on a cruise. It was so surreal at this moment. Awesome BonVoyage party!
