Off the frame

Well I came up short for my deadline....by six strips of wool. I finished hooking this afternoon when we got back home. Just need to bind it and label. Thanks to Saundra of Woodlawn Junction I will be headed over to Jo-Ann's Fabric to pick up the printable fabric.

Like I said in my previous post I had a brainstorm...after seeing Lauren's (Rugs and Pugs) sweet little mat that was a freebie pattern from Kankerdoodle at With Hook And Needle I was hit with a woolerful idea.

So I went to work on a anniversary gift for my best friend's parents whose anniversary just so happens to be on the same day as my birthday.

Just a couple of snaps of the rug as I know a few of you have been patiently waiting to see what I was up to.

I will post more about our fabulous weekend in Caribou, Maine next time. ;)

On the hook

Had a brainstorm on Friday morning, on the way to work, that led to another brainstorm and before I knew it I was color planning on Friday night, wool cutting on Saturday morning; then after some good work in my wooded path garden I was on the hook!

Final reveal coming soon....

Chewie supervised the cutting of the wool.

Gotta get back on the hook and then go play in the yard some more. The days have been so amazingly mild and sweet!

Keep on Stitching and Hooking.

Up close

I am almost done with my Hip Hip Hooray... Will have a finish to show soon. Sunday we drove down to Bean Town to spend the day with our dear friends from Kansas. We could not have ordered a more beautiful day! I took Monday off; another gorgeous day!! I put a few stitches in the Spanish Mystery Sampler.

My mother made this wonderful lap quilt for my husband.
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
